My 19–mile run turned into a 21–mile run due to having to double back when I discovered part of the course I’d planned to take had been closed for repair. :(

I started the run with a deliberately high blood glucose of 9mmol. I took no carbs for the first hour and then about 10g CHO every 20mins; a combination of glucose gel packs and Lucozade Sport. A very reasonable 6.5mmol on my return :D

21.31 mile run, 3h 02′23″, 8′34″ avg pace, 2574 kcal, ahr 152 bpm, mhr 176 bpm.

Nimbus 11 mileage: 191.77

Half–marathon time was 1h 53′26″, an average 8′39″ min/mile pace. The second half of my run was faster, probably on account of being chased by a dog at mile 19 o_O

A nice, gentle 4–miler in preparation for tomorrow’s 19–miler. Unlike the previous two Saturday runs, this one was almost like a stroll in the park.

4.10 mile run, 35′50″, 8′44″ avg pace, 457 kcal, ahr 148 bpm, mhr 172 bpm.

Whose crazy–fool idea was it to run 10 miles mid–week? o_O

I was test driving part of this Sunday’s planned 19 mile route. Actually, tonight’s run wasn’t too bad at all although three of my toenails are complaining vehemently.

10.49 mile run, 1h 31′09″, 8′41″ avg pace, 1219 kcal, ahr 148 bpm, mhr 184 bpm.

Nimbus 11 mileage:159.95

It has to be said that the Nimbus 11s felt really comfy during the run.

Running Log

It seems like ages since I last ran although the truth of it is that I decided to take a week off while on-call for work. Usually I’ll do some time on the elliptical trainer to keep busy but I was interested to see if taking a week off completely had any detrimental effect to the ongoing Runners World training schedule.

As it happens, my pace was good and I burned nearly 1,000 calories but I’m certainly feeling it :P

8.14 mile run, 1h 08′15″, 8′23″ avg pace, 947 kcal, ahr 160 bpm, mhr 187 bpm.
